Ratings aren't great, but not brutal. They've shed just under half the initial audience. SHIELD dropped 2/3rds over it's first season.

And that Kirk's guardian is romancing Joan.
There's something to be said for creating mystery and buzz.
I also caught a strong Sean Parker vibe, what with the radio on the internet talk, and his desire to make other ceos/boards pay.
Many takes by many writers. The point is that there's no reason we can't also have a less silly Superman.
What do you mean they're "supposed to be colorful and fun". Do you mean "previous versions were colorful and fun"? There's nothing in the Superman mythos that predicates "colorful and fun". I found Man of Steel to be engaging and beautiful.
After delaying seeing Guardians of the Galaxy, only to find it was an over-hyped excerise in shockingly bad acting (The bad guys were brutal, good guys not much better), and shoddy writing, I'm worried about Avengers 2. Mine dropped when she closed the apartment door and declared "You're dragging my life down" or it might have been "You're ruining my life" ostensibly to the babysitter, but was it really?
Precisely.
