Mortgages and Marbles has my favorite ending of the series with Paula shooting a marble from her nose into Brendon's face. Her "Bullseye" and Brendon's grudging acknowledgement never cease to crack me up.

I get it now. I'm just the blurst.

It's pretty fucking good. I Should Watch TV and Lazarus are amazing, I just wish there would have been more room for Annie to let loose. But still, a lot better than the album description was making it sound.

A B sounds about right. Some really good songs but the album as a whole feels a little lifeless. She Just Don't Want to Be with You Anymore is gorgeous though, and although it sounds nothing alike, the meandering ending reminds me of M83's New Map, which is a very good thing.

It's not great, but remarkably consistent, and much better than the disappointing Deerhoof vs. Evil. Fete d'Adieu and Flowers are awesome though, and I'm so glad somebody else picked up on the Stereolab vibes on the latter.

I like Animal Collective's last four albums a lot, but after two listen Centipede Hz really, really fucking dissapoints. Oh well, at least the new Grizzly Bear album is fantastic, and I still have yet to listen to the new Dylan/David Byrne & St. Vincent.

I found Although illuminating i/r/t DFW speaking about the themes and ideas of Infinite Jest, but just found any other time the author would write about anything else particularly infuriating. IIRC, the end of book really pissed me off, but I cannot remember why. If I were you, I'd check Although out from the library,…

Am I the only one who read (and loved) Infinite Jest but skipped the endnotes? At first I reconciled that by saying the first half was a slog and adding a seemingly endless amount of appendices and miscellany meant I would never get through it, but as time went on I would skim sections when I felt the urge and found…
