Epatha
To correct a typo, the Law & Order actress is Epatha Merkerson, not Merkeson. And she'll always be Reba the Mail Lady to me.
Kid Rock, no problem?
Strange that there's not the same outcry about Kid Rock, who's actually been convicted of something, not just charged. From Wikipedia:
"Kid Rock has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement. In February 2005, he was arrested on assault charges for punching DJ Jay Campos in 'Christies Cabaret'…
Or Bryant Gumbel.
Which platforms?
It would be useful to know which platforms each of these games can run on. Most of us don't have the luxury of owning all of them.
Hey Sal, how come you got no brothers on the wall?
Virtual Springfield
About 10 years ago there was a PC game called "Virtual Springfield". It's wasn't a particularly good game, but it did allow you to drive around the streets of town in "animated 3-D" fashion. Fun for about an hour.
I was impressed by "Monster House". It was especially cool to see it during its 3D limited run.
Richard Dent always blows me away live.
Onion
Somone needs to mention the classic Onion article about the '85 Bears reuniting for a follow-up album. So here you are, enjoy:
"Everyone has AIDS! AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS!"
BERNADETTE!
Excellent writeup, especially about the power of "Bernadette". By the way, the song also features one of James Jamerson's coolest basslines.
Charles Rocket
That's a shame about Charles Rocket, this is the first I've heard about his suicide. I remember smiling with recognition when I noticed him in one of the early scenes in "Dances With Wolves".
Don't forget "Babe: Pig in the Bright Lights, Big City", or "Bright Lights, Big City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly's Coke"
C+ is too generous
I have vague, pained memories of watching this movie in the theater. Fox was so wrong for this role — his boyish, featureless face just can't project any intensity. Then there was the whole heavy-handed "coma baby" metaphor that runs throughout. I seem to recall a very silly "coma baby" dream…
INSIDE MOVES
I was really hoping to see him talk about his first film, "Inside Moves". I caught that on cable in the mid-80s and absolultely loved it. Whenever I see Morse, that's the film that I recall. "Hey…Jer-RY!"
winehouse
In the U.S., "Back To Black" was released before "Frank". So Amy Winehouse 's "Best New Artist" Grammy does make sense in that regard.
bring back voice clips!
Remember when AVClub would post audio excerpts of their interviews? Whatever happened to that? 'Cause this guy's got the coolest voice.
HEAD
Jon Favreau's head is gonna get so big when he sees these numbers. Oh wait.
Yep, Survivor used to be the #1 show every week. Those days are over, but Survivor has, uh, survived. As long as AI remains a top 25 show, that'll be good enough for Fox.
