I love this show too (nostalgia factor), but when I re-watch, there are many moments where Carrie is just a horrible, self-centered friend. Some of my favorite moments are ones where Miranda calls Carrie out on her self-centered bullshit. Bullshit bagels.

I think SATC aired at the end of the period where people wanted to see characters that, on the surface, they couldn't really relate to. A lot of shows now go for more realism, more grit, but SATC was escapism for people who wanted escapism. The majority of the audience could sympathize/empathize with the emotions of

And wasn't it the first paid cable/non-network comedy to win an Emmy for Best Comedy?

Yes. Who can forget her Shakespearean lyrics, such as, "Don't be fancy, just get dance-y"? Truly, she is a lyrical pioneer.

Yup. Stan also took a bullet for Hayley. They're clearly not on the same political/moral wavelength, but there have been a lot of moments where they've supported each other.

I don't think it was a conclusion so much as a "flash-forward." What happened with the Golden Turd all the years prior to the rapture? Also, if Roger can do it once, he can do it again. So that might not have been the same Golden Turd. Inquiring minds want to know. About poop.

I miss the Golden Turd saga! That little story just kind of pooped out. The last one I remember was with Swoosie Kurtz's character poisoning her husband for possession of the Golden Turd (although it popped up in Rapture's Delight… Or pooped up . . .).

Is it a rule that Eliza Dushku should never be allowed to carry a TV show due to her limited acting "range"? Because I can get on board that rule.

"So I said, 'Look, Mother. It's my life, okay? So if I want to live on a beach and walk around naked'… Oh."

I was watching "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" yesterday (I know, I know) and this song played in a scene. It was a good reminder that I needed to immediately download it. The great thing about this song is that everyone says something like, "Oh, yeah, that one 80s song" and you can blow their mind by telling

I still haven't seen Silver Linings Playbook for this very same reason. I keep hearing good things about it, but I've seen the trailer and like you said, it just seems like it's a rom-com/drama like a lot of other films. Plus, it has Robert De Niro in it and he hasn't been making good choices as of late (I'm looking

I am a die-hard Madonna fan and will defend her until the day I die, my last words as I'm being eaten to death by a lion being "Life is a mystery . . . Everyone must stand . . . alone . . . AAARRRRGH." But her version of "Santa Baby"? This I will not defend.

I know this article is about the music, but Doris Day gives a really great performance in The Man Who Knew Too Much. Especially in the scene in which she's informed about her son's kidnapping. Much different than her popular lighter fare.

I came in late to the game and started watching when the Sci-Fi Channel (what is it, "Syfy" now? Whatevs.) had Saturday morning airings. I was in college at the time. As such, I have a deep affinity for Pearl, Bill Corbett's Crow, and all things Sci-Fi era. Girl in Gold Boots, The Final Sacrifice, and The Horrors

Rowsdower.

Why couldn't Bordertown be on TBS and American Dad remain on Fox?

Which is kind of odd, since he continues to bring it for Stan and Roger on the (vastly, vastly superior) American Dad.

Where's "My TV Club" with all the TV shows I follow?

Please don't do a Friends Thanksgiving episode. I'm ever so sick of those.

I love and adore Maya Rudolph. I thought she was the best thing about Up All Night. But why do network execs insist on bringing back the variety show? This will be an instant fail.
