While the book was released in 1999, it's set in the the early '90's, when certain parts of '80's culture just refused to die.

I really like this stage of the competition, because the interactions between the designers, while seemingly more mundane, are a lot more genuine and therefore enjoyable to watch.

I like Melissa, and I wouldn't be upset if she gets to the final, but I think she relies on variations of the same dramatic neckline too much. I don't think that their track records are significantly different enough to predict based on that.
