That sounds very familiar, doesn't it? Why? Because you said it.

This theory makes as much, if not more sense, than what most idiots postulate about this show.

Korra doesn't favor fire over the other elements. It's simply the easiest to use, because earth bending destroys everything and water needs a source. In her official Nick bio, it says she is "a waterbending and earthbending prodigy," but she's only "proficient" in firebending.

Also, is anyone in Republic City not an orphan because of firebenders?

Even though as soon as her father was evil, I knew she would be all Zuko-angsty-goodness, my reaction to Asami electrocuting her father was, literally me screaming:

That's definitely it. Thanks.
Does anyone know the song that was playing at the end? It sounded like Lykke Li, but I didn't recognize it.
You know nothing, Sally Draper.
My favorite part was Roger saying "bitch" like 20 times in a single scene. Other than that, I was fairly unimpressed with this episode.
I really want to see Korra go to town with some waterbending. Not pro-bending waterbending, but full scale, unlimited giant source of water waterbending. I was so excited when she used her crazy waterspout to go way higher than we ever saw Master Pakku do during a full moon, that it was a bummer when she didn't do…
"chi rape"
With Asami and Tarlokk, fans are going "I don't like the way they're drawn; they read their lines weird; the react weird; they're so evullzzzz!" But Hiroshi Sato just seems like a genuinely nice, generous man. And besides the need for money, there's no real indication that there's any reason he would be evil.
