Tim Gunn's Emmy Glory!
I just wanted to make sure that I'm not the only person who stood up from my sofa and cheered when Tim Gunn appeared in the Emmy's opening number. Screw that John Hamm guy —we love Tim!

As John said in his review, you don't want to make Tim Gunn mad.

Huzzah! No Finale Live Blog!
(saying "Thank You Jesus" while stroking the keyboard, just as Angelo did with his Toyota keys)

Ending of "Raiders" is up there with the all-time greatest final shots. Of course, he ruined it with "Kingdom", but I'm happy to lay the blame on George.

Marmaduke
Groovy.

Also, re: Das Boot. I taped it off TV in about '90/'91, and the tape ran out as they were limping back into harbour. I watched it again about 3 years ago and was shocked that what I thought was the ending for all these years was in fact completely wrong.

@Spinner: Yeah, I wasn't sure if it should be on the list or not. If it goes on the list, however, I'd like to throw "Lust/Caution" onto it as well, and not only for hot naked people. It really caught the atmosphere of an occupied city well, I thought.

@Spinner: Yeah, I was trying to stay under the 20-year deadline. I watched "Enemy" right after reading Beevor's "Stalingrad", so I was prepared to cut it a lot of slack. Mostly I just liked Memphis Belle for getting all the still-operational bombers together for some of the flight scenes.

It's flawed as well, but I'd throw "Enemy At The Gates" into the list of best WWII movies of the past 20 years.

Starship Troopers 2 & 3
I know one of them made it into a "Commentary Tracks of the Damned", but surely they deserve to be part of this list, too?

I like Valerie, too. But, I wish she'd find a tube top that fits. She was constantly fidgeting with it in every single scene, and it was driving me nuts.

*Remains of the Day Lunchboxes*

"I looked forward for over a year to the book you are holding in your hands…you bastard, that was my copy, didn't you hear me call dibs?"

No Halloween read this year?
Awww, I was really hoping to have another horror novel for October, like we did with "Ghost Story" last year. T'is the season and all that.

Hey, log-rolling solved all of our office bookkeeping problems, I'll have you know!

I can't believe I'm posting this far down…
…and am still the first person to ask why the F the longest segment of the program tonight focused on Ed in a yellow dress?

Van Halen
I seem to remember that in David Lee Roth's autobiography, he confesses to just making up large chunks of the band's lyrics on the spot, and warns people not to actually listen to closely to them.

Hats Rule.
I just wanted to say that I was super-pleased to have an episode built around hats, and not have it be about Creepy Jason's bowler hat.

Today is Father's Day.
Is that the first time they've ever made a direct reference to a date in Project Runway? The turnaround from filming to airing is remarkably short this time, then.

"I like my wooly animal balls" doesn't count as a fabulous gay man catchphrase?
