Really…Sam Anderson? I couldn't see anybody buy Tobolowsky in this role, least of which that old man. Sam Anderson munching on Marcy's carpetless wonder? I think not!

Who doesn't want to be Lew Ashby? Great character! Especially for this show. I loved his headstone in the graveyard at the end of the season.
The RZA is obviously supposed to be Hank's new Lew Ashby. As deserving as The RZA of such a chance as to resurrect one of the most interesting character's in this show's tiny little universe; I don't think Hank is hip enough and really matches with RZA's vibe. Lew Ashby was a perfect rock star of a character and Hank…
If i had a heart for fictional characters; it would have sank the moment Sudeikis jumped out and carried the waitress away from poor Charlie.
I agree about the Dee wedgie. Unnecessary.
The last stray observation has me confused. All I found was Thunder Run about some fighting in Irag in 2003. Huh?
@close-watcher… Come one the League of Nations is a very powerful political entity that could easily prevent another war. Plus the treaty of versaille will totally prevent Germany from ever having military force of any significance. Come on what really could happen. It was the war to end ALL WARS… Everyone learned…
Left him in Gillian's care. That assumes that he had a choice. He didn't. Someone had to be guardian and he was dead even before he was really dead. Angela's family was non-existent and there was literally no one else.
Exactly. He went out on his own terms. He didn't die "over there" so he tried to make a go at it over here. He had a very existentialist view about life post war that no other character save Harrow understood. That is why his death scene can be kind of confusing. That is why he didn't try to beat this thing like…
Harrow is obviously a beloved character by the show's fanbase. THough it does seem unless they write some serious storylines for Harrow that he is in serious danger next season. He has always been a character dependent on another for screen time unless he was wallowing in misery or acting confused. To change that…
Who knows what will happen with ancillary characters like Harrow and Owen. Harrow has little options at this point. No one in AC (or America) gives shit one about him. Gillian has proven to be the most dismissive of people in her life that aren't her son her grandson.
I agree entirely. Unlike anybody else's storyline his had some real deep operatic qualities to it. I enjoy gangster stories more when they are told that way e.g. Godfather vs. Mean Streets. Reading this great analysis's of Jimmy makes me disappointed that a character like that was written off so quickly. What…
Nail on the head.
Good point. With Nucky's power renewed and all his problems gone (thanks in no small part to the late Jimmy) he stood to be the richest man in town and only getting richer. Thanks to Margaret, Gillian is in control of the town's biggest stack of cash. Though I wouldn't know what she would do with it. She could…
Agree about Margaret. Carmela Soprano didn't fit well into the gangster universe either. She could be a real drag, too.
In the gangster universe, Jimmy was definitely dead weight. Politically speaking he had lost his power with New York and Chicago and Philly. Jimmy had gotten in too deep to still use his potential as an asset.
You can't tally me as one that supports your opinion. The rest of the evening a kept sipping at bourbon and irish whiskey thinking Jimmy Fucking Darmody. To the Lost indeed.
I agree with Scott. His arguments are dead on. I think Tasha's take on Cera's performance as subtle parody is just ridiculous. It is a film critic's trick. (Sandler's piss poor performance in Jack and Jill was just a parody on the usual stupid roles that he normally plays). Tasha falls into the trap of loving a…
I think this was an episode for the long time fans. It was trying to be a sleek episode that started off rolling and then continued with its momentum. Sunny is a type of show that is beloved by those that can interpret the shows humor and style. While this episode omitted alot of crucial stuff and glossed over and…
Ditto on the Scott Tenorman reference. Both were deeply gratifyingly funny in a very dramatic kind of way. Cartmen is one the most satisfyingly interesting characters and I love the way Scott Tenorman brings out the best of the worst of Cartmen. I even love when the shows alludes to it in the episode 4th grade.
