eighthsies?
eighthsies?
eh i think the panda credit is pretty spot-on, there's a clear progression from person pitch to MPP, plus panda was responsible for the two strongest tracks on that album in "my girls" and "brothersport"
to be honest i think this one's kind of weak, and i've been pretty unimpressed by what i've heard of tomboy so far too, you know? i guess they can't all be person pitch or young prayer though
…
microphones "my warm blood"
seriously good
definitely rivals liars/women for my favourite album so far this year
christchurch has inspired a few tracks though, like elvis costello's rocking horse road. why, i have no idea - i grew up there, but don't really see much special about the weird little city
billy idol "white wedding"
i mean seriously
jeez that's intense. like, blows everything else in this inventory out of the water intense
he wasn't correcting at all, he was adding further information, which as someone who frequents observatories in new zealand (seriously) i was pretty happy to read
less populous, a lot colder, slightly better? yes
pretty sure they mean economically neo-liberal - competitive free-for-all markets, that kind of thing. a combination of some brutal economic reforms in the 80s and a right-wing coalition in power right now means there's a lot of that kind of thing in nz at the moment
don't worry our man winston's on his way back
used to be pretty heavily into of montreal/elephant 6 stuff
i dunno, there's a definite weird feeling at the cinema at the moment. for some reason, the papers listed which theatre and seat it was, which is attracting weird attention from filmgoers
so uh i work at the cinema where this happened (seriously no joke, reading courtenay central) and it's kind of horrible/everyone's pretty shook up about it/pretty weird vibes
No, camera-phone is pretty correct. The first word is modifying the second word - so it's a phone, modified by a camera. Camera-phone. Beautiful.
prank
This movie has the best prank in cinematic history. Jamie Foxx's young daughter is expecting a DVD of her cello recital in the mail. When it arrives, she excitedly loads it up into the DVD player, BUT it turns out the DVD is grisly footage of Gerard Butler brutally torturing and murdering a bad guy! HA HA HA
oh
Because I live in Wellington, and look a bit like a hobbit, I applied to be an extra in this. So you know, hurry up and get back to me guys.
Oh yeah Ruby Suns. As a fellow New Zealander - and having met Ryan McPhun several times - it always gives me a bit of patriotic pride to see them getting good press. Live they're a bit hit or miss, but all three albums are pretty great, plus he's a nice guy. Real good vibes
