Review on the boxed set???
I would have thought that this review would be on the quality of the set and the extras, considering that anyone here should already be familiar with this series. So thanks anyway for the last short paragraph for those stuck with BluRay (which was a pretty much stillborn format).

Best Kung Fu Movie Evar (so far)
Not historical, no, but neither was Fearless (which is also excellent).
I've never seen a Kung Fu movie that was vaguely historically accurate, but that may not be the point (so far).

Seconded on the nothing less than incredible thing, the way the guy uses language is pure genius.
I forgot to mention that I have of course read through 'The Deep' at least three times since then. I really love the portrayal of a character in the climactic bit whose name I won't mention for fear of spoiling things…
