Jokes aside, the T-Dog kill counts - they had a character they weren't doing anything with, and at this point it would have taken more time than it was worth on a show set in a dangerous, uncertain world to develop him, instead of using him to rachet up the tension and move on.

Absolutely. Shane, Dale and Andrea were pretty horrible characters, but Lori was a step beyond. The ghost of Ingrid Bergman couldn't have made her compelling.
