Oh man! That Morton Downey Jr episode on professional wrestling is something else. In fact, every Morton Downey Jr Show I've seen is baffling. I think we can all be glad his show only lasted 2 or 3 years.

Topic of discussion: Least favorite Real Sex segment?

It seems like the best episodes of the Muppet Show were hosted by Broadway stars of the period. I'm not a musical theater person at all but that form of over the top, cheesy singing and dancing really translates well into the Muppet Show.

I'm about 85% this is nostalgia speaking but Iistened to Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em recently and it was semi-decent for a pop rap album of the period. It did suffer from the typical, early '90s/early CD exclusive release problem of every track being 2 or 3 minutes too long. See also; Michael Jackson, Dangerous.

No Holds Barred, man, why isn't that one on DVD? For Christ's sake, all three Thunder in Paradise TV movies already are, why not the Hulkster's dramatic tour de force! You could have No Holds Barred: The Match, The Movie (RIP Macho Man) as a special feature even.

Bob Mould actually briefly wrote for WCW in its waning days.

Running Wilde also airs at midnight on Saturdays as part of Fox TV's scramble to find a replacement for MadTV/The Wanda Sykes Real Time ripoff that replaced MadTV. Ironically, I think Sit Down and Shut Up had the same time slot last season.

Well damn
I came in here expecting to make an "Everybody Loves Raymond" joke about some obscure foreign film with the name Raymond in its title only to find it out it was an obscure doc that was actually about "Everybody Loves Raymond".

Another suggestion for the fall
MavTV, the poor man's SpikeTV. Its programming seems to be entirely made up of low rent MMA, low rent roller derby, low rent stand up comedy, and the low rent female ripoff of Jackass that use to air on Fuse (or was it MTV2?) They also have lady wrestling. If only it was around when I

Ah yes! HBO late night
Creepiest Cathouse moment? The episode where father and son banged a pair of prostitutes in the same bed at the same time. Euck! Close runner up is the aforementioned episode where mother bought her 28 year old son a hooker.

@Drunk on…

Favorite promo? Seven words: "Who are you to doubt El Dandy?"

Was anybody unfortunate to catch that Heroes of Wrestling PPV in '99 main evented by an awful beyond belief tag team match between a wasted beyond belief, Jake The Snake Roberts and morbidly obese Yokozuna against Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and King Kong Bundy? I could definitely believe Yoko was pushing 700 (if not 8)

Favorite match is like asking favorite movie or band so I'll limit it to five extraordinarily great ones off the top of my head…

John Landis
You should do a John Landis Month, Nabin. Plenty of material there. Into The Night, Oscar, Innocent Blood, Beverly Hills Cop 3. On second thought, not sure if I'd want to put you through all of that.

Suggestion
There's a new channel on my digital cable system called RT TV. I think it's a Russian news channel. I don't know—-maybe too boring to dedicate a whole two page article to. Thom Hartman from Air America is on there too for some reason.

A Gen Yer chips in
I'm 99% sure it was Michael Jackson's "Black or White". One of my earliest memories is watching the premiere on the FOX Network with my dad and brothers and being absolutely enthralled. I watched the VHS we recorded of it (complete with MJ smashing car windows and turning into a panther) repeatedly

Yeah but—-
Are there any anecdotes about Bodyslam!, the straight to video rock 'n' wrestling comedy he directed with Dirk Benedict, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and Charles Nelson Reilly? It's got Billy Barty yelling homophobic slurs at Reilly and a lot of Captain Lou Albano yelling.

Unhip obsessions
KISS is neck and neck with professional wrestling as my least hip pop culture obsession. Eh, at least I know some hipsters who ironically like KISS.
