"The best two seasons of Grey’s Anatomy are its second and its seventh. Is there another show in the history of television for which that is true?"

I'm going to feel bad for Pixar after what seems like an honest effort on their part gets buried under the weight of a thousand Minions in two weeks.

That was my thought - "wait, do I need to start checking the back of DVD boxes to make sure that Toy Story 3 was after Up?"

"a line that has so little application to the situation that she just
seems to be trying to appear smart by saying random cool shit."

I was thinking Sam should get a shot, too, but at the same time she seems to care more about her kids than anything else.

Really? For a relatively short-lived game show, it had quite a cultural cachet (EG, it's got a Facebook version, "The Whammy" moved into the lexicon, etc.)

Yeah, as well-trained as he was, you could tell that there were some holes in his game. Of course, he knew 4 and 8 were safe squares, so he just needed patterns where those squares didn't have free spins attached.

One of the better Top Chef anecdotes is that Eli, from the awesome Vegas season, was kind of a twist savant.  He was a superfan and was one step ahead of the producers at all times. He also seemed like he had quite a few go-to recipes in his pocket.

On the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares, they made a point to show that Ramsay usually shows up either unannounced or early in order to catch them off-guard.

I'm with Phil - every time I see someone on a reality competition show who hasn't watched it for six straight months after they got word they're going to be on the show I shake my head in amazement.

*shrug* probably thought they could get a ratings boost out of it once word got around.  If memory serves, this wound up airing over two parts.

Yeah, part of the fun of PYL was certainly that it was a nice balance between complexity and simplicity.  It doesn't play nearly as well on Facebook, however.

"Avery occasionally smiling over at her like he’s a fucking guardian
angel and not the worst character in the history of television."

"The reference to Khan is nice (although he gives the wrong era for the Eugenics War),"

Also: One of these years, ABC will realise that they have the easiest hit possible in the form of a Daredevil TV series in the style of Law and Order (just keep Bendis far away from it, or else Matt will never set foot in a courtroom).   That, if nothing else, is reason to hope SHIELD works….

"Yes, ABC can talk about how it beats NBC (and sometimes Fox) if you
remove sports from the equation, but nobody’s removing sports from the
equation,"

I don't get the logic about the MJF show at 9:30.  If there was ever a show that begged to be at 8, competition be damned, that's it. Then just transition down to the more eclectic stuff later in the night.

THIS. This so much.  I know we had idiotic depictions of video games in media for years, but…

Yeah, Blanka's a relatively low threat unless you run into someone who REALLY knows what they're doing.

Yeah - it worked much better as a soapier version of Mission Impossible than whatever the hell they think this is now.  It's like a less interesting take on Gossip Girl at this point.
