I'd have to agree. If someone like Kubrick was adapting my novel I'd A) Expect him to make it his own, and B) be glad to discuss the ins and out of the work, day or night, Aren't great writers supposed to stumbling around the house at 3AM blind drunk and hitting on their cats anyway?
