I didn't think much of her until the Aubrey Plaza impersonation.

For my money Community itself is synonymous with Greendale. I've seen Allison Brie and Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover in their other stuff (as well as Joel McHale, obviously) and frankly none of them will ever be the rockstars they are on Community anywhere else. I feel like McHale and Jeong are the most…
I felt this episode was really funny but I also felt it was really weird until a friend pointed out that it was likely spoofing multi-cam comedies like Parks & Rec. In retrospect it really did have that sort of vibe to it and puts it pretty squarely in line with any other episode of Community except that they don't…
Yup. Angel puppets. Never forget.
Change makes people forget. It's the same reason sequels are never as good as the first film — people want the contradictory elements of familiarity and newness. They want to feel again like Community made them feel when they didn't know what they were getting into. There's no allowance for it to become good again…
This season has been fantastically, wonderfully, amazingly different and yet still funny and brave and insightful. Not being tied down to a 23 minute run time with planned act breaks has given the writing the room to breathe that no other show on television can emulate (for now). The pregnant pauses on Elroy's…
Here's the strange thing .. none of this sentiment is actually strange. It's just different than how the greater viewing public perceives things. Great writing is revealed when you re-experience the film. Great twists retain their power as you see how well crafted a film (or tv show) is around its powerful twisting…
The reasons it happened to him are still fantastic though; alienation and boredom. He probably wouldn't be so bored if he wasn't so disengaged from the group (the point of the episode) but it's also hilarious to me to see the utter boredom on his face every time he attempts to "flash back."
I've always really described Community as a show that I don't really laugh at so much as I laugh about later when I'm talking about it with people who understand the reference. The same can be said for THE PRINCESS BRIDE; to which we can take the parallel further and illuminate how both are ostensibly comedies but…
How is it a legitimate complaint that new additions to the cast sound like the other characters? Each of the characters sharing parts of one another is a fundamental pillar of this entire show! If Elroy didn't sound like any of the other characters he wouldn't fit in. None of the characters are direct analogues but…
Katers gonna Kate
I love me some Idris Elba but he doesn't come off as "African" to me .. certainly more British.
Clarification: 0 is still too many episodes of Gotham.
I remember when I started watching the show (seasons 1 and 2 on DVD) and I'd call out any time Kate was wearing a brand new form fitted shirt. As I recall it was a new one every episode with no duplicates for a LONG time.
FYI Kiwis will eat you alive when you confuse them with Australians.
As Greer explained .. he (and Samaritan) believes that most people are inherently good until they're led astray by certain people and the number of people that amounted to was actually very small (in the 100's). The Correction was the elimination of those people who had been deemed to be either a bad influence or…
Let's just say I disagree. One of the great things about art is that you don't actually have to try hard to do well.
A good but not great episode for my tastes. I didn't laugh as much as other episodes but there were a lot of bits that I really appreciated.
She wasn't just "somebody else" she was the so-called IT lady that they couldn't find a few episodes back. Meta-callback.
Check it out soon, this season has been utterly fantastic :)
