He chopped up the study room table with a fire axe not more than two feet away from literally everyone he cares about.

Jeff always pretends to not care even when he does. This goes way back even when Jeff is watching soccer with Duncan and goes to show him all the voicemails that he thought he'd have but didn't; he was heartbroken, and not one episode removed from him yelling at Pierce that he'd love it if he wasn't invited to stuff…
I think you're on the right track it's just more like the fact that Chris Pratt was an NBC half-hour multi-cam comedy star turned mega movie star than any particular role Pratt may have won over McHale.
Thanks, Frankie.
Actually that's just a little vaseline on the lens.
It wasn't punchy but it was funny; at least for a fan of non sequitur humor as myself Elroy is already my favorite character.
It may feel a little quick but her character has always really been defined by her intentions and she's had probably the smoothest character arc overall considering the fact that she's the one who has changed the most and consistently changed over time rather than in fits (Fitz?) and starts. In season one she started…
You seem really mad that a 30 minute comedy couldn't find a clever and elegant solution to a high-concept episode in time for them to shoot the script and air it. The third act was fine.
Dan Harmon is incredibly hard on his own work because it's not living up to his high standards. Not sure that's a sign that the show is going off the rails.
I'm not saying that there aren't neurosis that are driving the characters, I'm saying that there's never been a strong connection to providing legitimate reasons for engaging in the insanity they do every week (other than insanity itself). Good job on the work of highlighting true character moments on the show though.
Beat me to it, wish I could upvote you twice.
Annoyingly hot? Yes. Yes indeed. I loved that little sashay thing she did every time she turned around :(
I'm not sure how the over the top production was a problem, can you explain it more? Harmon is famously hard on his own work in ways that no fan or critic of the show ever could be.
Absolutely; although to be fair we may just be in the middle of setting her up for a big decision. She will likely have to choose between her Inhumans family and her SHIELD family. Probably season 3 or 4 though, closer to either CIVIL WAR or INHUMANS.
Because it was the fan backlash that killed them and ultimately led to the sea change in how networks look at big dramatic tentpoles.
Skye has never been one to understand the value of a secret.
Everyone else thought Fury was dead.
Could be. I'm hoping it's Dr. Franklin Hall.
I wouldn't say Bobbi is awesome except by reputation and .. my god .. that outfit.
This episode was a vindication of the fans and a validation of their power and — ultimately — a beginning sign that television had been irrevocably changed forever. The backlash won and smart writer/producers won an unprecedented planned ending to an immensely popular network drama and Exposé heralded that change.
