I think we can blame Boston Rob for that, since he called in favors from outside the game (like his friendships with Kathy and Lex) and then treated them like it was just part of the game. I don't remember outside relationships playing as large of a factor (no greater than in HvV) until Rob started calling in favors…

This jury was mostly playing for show I think. It wasn't really bitter in the same way the All-Stars or Gabon jury was. Penner's speech in particular was clearly just for entertainment
