Not loving this - I could understand if he was covering a Blind Lemon Jefferson or Ishmon Bracey song or something of a similar vintage, but this is 1970s country and messing it up like this is just weird (and also, the voice doesn't sound right if he's going for 1930s blues static, way too computerised).

I can't believe I've never heard of this. The cast is like a highly personalised sex dream…

I dont trust that anyone involved in this understands the book or even wants to. That's not to say I boast some deep understanding, since I read it once about ten years ago, but then again I'm not making a movie of it. It just comes off as history porn, pillaging the 1920s of everything that is currently considered

Omg, Jerome of Robson and Jerome is in Game of Thrones? I don't watch it so I hadn't heard about this, but I just laughed out loud for a good ten seconds…

Liked the episode - I didn't find the Frankie or the Axl plots to be particularly funny, but I was perfectly happy watching them anyway, and Mike and Sue's thing was really cute. Eden Sher is just so much fun to watch - I often find myself starting to smile the moment she opens her mouth and growing into a goofy grin

Based on that description, The Middle better have some damned good B and C plots…

He's the only one in town who's moved on from AltaVista, so give the others a break…

And yet, somewhat ironically, TaleSpin managed to maintain consistent excellence.

This season really is going from strength to strength - IMO there hasn't been a dud so far. Tonight was an especially great episode not only for the kids (seriously, Sher just keeps getting better) but also for Mike. Neil Flynn got a lot of good stuff to work with (the Disneyland jar, the plaid realisation, the

I really thought that was common knowledge. To think, if they'd just left off the last two letters that joke would actually have made sense..

Never seen My Name is Earl, so to me this was basically Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie.

That Danish version of Coward of the County is on YouTube and it's probably the nicest thing I've listened to in ages. Very soothing. It relieves the horrible dread I always felt when it would come on at family parties as a kid because the raped girlfriend in the song has the same name as me. No English - no problem.

Oh sweet Jesus, that guy who plays Darrin is hot in real life! Strange how the hair on the IMDb pics makes all the difference. And the non-jock clothing probably helps, too.

Very talented guy, sounds like a laugh in real life too. His work in The Middle (am I being overly optimistic when I say I think it's starting to catch on?) creating new expressions of bewilderment at his family's antics every damn week is truly inspiring. He's right about Mean Girls being THE movie of my generation,

Very true. Our media now often seems to take it for granted that we have the same racial demographics as America, either because they're obsessed with the US or because their editorial staff has literally never left London and so assumes everywhere in the country looks like that.  I've noticed it for a while,

Maybe it was just me, but I felt like his walk has improved since the show's beginning. A quick scan of Wikipedia suggests that his form of brittle bone tends to be worse before puberty, so perhaps it's become a little easier for the kid to manage - his voice has noticeably broken, in any case.

Mad as fishes, the pair of them, but obviously having a blast together. They're an awesome couple.

Approved. Probably my favourite singer in terms of sheer great songs. My Woman, My Woman, My Life is very slightly cheesy at the start but still makes me blub when it gets to the "Two little babies were born in the spring" part and gets all soar-y. And he wrote Lord, You Gave Me A Mountain, a real sweeping

What's wrong with Charley Pride? Wonder Could I Live There Anymore is one of the best, most profound country songs ever recorded. Simultaneous celebration and undermining of the down-home nostalgia myth.
