Not entirely sure how that press release is "muddled". I think it's fairly clear that Grohl is saying he loves and respects all kinds of musical endeavour, he just dislikes the over-produced electronic element (auto-tune, etc). That's what I presumed he meant a week ago, and that's what I presume he means now.

If you can master one type of character then you're golden. Ricky Gervais and Woody Allen have made millions from it.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. I really want to like this show due to the parties involved, yet I just can't seem to enjoy it. But that said, it has clearly been plotted and scripted in minute detail. Nothing about it seems improvised at all.

My issue with Fey's book is that the bitchy snark that works so well on TV is incredibly tiresome on the page. The few times where she was being sincere were the best parts of the book.
