I enjoyed this, especially his candor about some of the minor roles he played. He didn't try to convince us (or himself) that The Sopranos was at its core an epic retelling of the influences and evolution of Benny Fazio.

"Ugh, Caitlin. You want me to sign another one of your petitions?"

There was also DinoSapien, a Canadian-produced series that ran on Discovery Kids. It's kind of a summer-camp Jurassic Park where teenagers find that a few dinosaurs weren't actually extinct, they were just hiding away. My kids enjoyed it when they were little and the Canadian-style earnestness made it watchable.

The Shatner episode is pretty great throughout. It has the "Get a Life" Star Trek convention, the "Restaurant Enterprise," the "lost ending" to It's a Wonderful Life, the Sweeney Sisters' Christmas medley and the TJ Hooker parody where Shatner spends the entire episode riding on the car hood.

It's not depressing on The Simpsons episode where they're watching the beauty pageant and the contestants all cheerfully sing, "I learned that truth at 17 that love was meant for beauty queens!"

The demand was that he cut the routine from something like six minutes to one and a half or something ridiculous like that. It seemed like Lorne almost set the whole thing up to make a point by bumping a traditional standup in favor of more avant-garde stuff like Andy Kaufman.

The initial negative New York Times review after the first couple of episodes treated SNL as if it were a music show with some comedy bits thrown in as filler.

Whether it's true or not, the rumor consensus surrounding the Poehler-Arnett breakup does not cast the blame with her.

Amy's great whether it's her Baby Mama character, Leslie Knope or her hyper teenage girl on SNL. Tina's great, but within a very narrow window.

I think the The Four Seasons is Alda's best and most personal movie. It reflected some of the things going on among his suburban New Jersey group of intertwined married couples. In addition to the actors' friendship, Burnett's character has a lot of style and personality similarities to Arlene Alda. However, it's the

I think the Winchester-based stories were the best parts of the final years, including the marathon finale, where his storyline with the musicians moved me more than the chicken/baby stuff.

In Alda's memoir, there's a newspaper picture of him smoking a cigarette as a toddler. His father was in town doing a play, and they invented the wacky story to get a little attention for the show. Pre-surgeon general's report, it was presented as a hilarious, harmless oddity.

Linville was great at playing his role and probably would have been better off had he pressed the producers, but that didn't seem to be in his nature. Unfortunately that led to his character eventually being painted into a corner.

There is a "Lilo and Stitch" episode where the other four Kids voice Pleakley's family members.

Bruce Greenwood did one too. How about Helen Hunt, who had an occasional role as David Morse's girlfriend? You could also do a theme with cast members who also appeared in famous film comedies—Cindy Pickett and Stephen Furst.

I remember someone saying, "Norman loves tennis, but since he turned 90 he just plays doubles now."

They did a great gag where Murray is wearing dark-rimmed reading glasses while studying to become a detective. He tells Oscar that he can't understand why he flunked "Disguises" and offers to show Oscar what he used.

O'Hara had been out of Hollywood for about 20 years when her brother/agent sent her the script and told her, "This, you do." In her book, she said she insisted on meeting John Candy first, because she had a very serious approach to acting and was worried about having a "funnyman" as a lead.

After two troubled marriages, she was very happy with Charlie Blair and gave up Hollywood to live in St. Croix, where his airline was based. She became an ambassador for Virgin Islands tourism and published a magazine promoting it.

Great interview. She was my most anticipated missing RR.
