Thanks for the reply, but I don't think this what I was thinking of. The "Amy" I remember was a traditionally sized daily newspaper comic strip. I grew up in Massachusetts, so I would have seen it in the Boston Globe or the Fitchburg Sentinel, though it certainly could have run in other papers.

No apology necessary. I'm a reasonably accomplished Internet surfer and I've never come across anything about it. If the answer comes, it's going to have to come from someone who has first-hand memories of the thing.
