I actually had quite high expectations for this. Normally, this means I'll be deeply disappointed. But like you, I knew I was gonna like it when I heard the MagFields.

I don't care what anybody says, I LOVED everything about this. I haven't laughed so much about a sitcom in aaaaggggeeessssss. The musical choices were excellent (The Magnetic Fields! Muddy Waters!).
I would loved for it to have been turned into a series but it's kind of perfect as a stand-alone piece now, too.
God,

God,

I hate myself for saying this but I actually love the show (so far). I like that Sherlock is less sociopath, more damaged addict. Johnny Lee Miller is utterly compelling. Don't like Liu as much as the other commenters but she and Miller work well together. And I quite like that the Captain and the Detective show some

Adam may very well be this show's Moriarity. He fooled Sherlock. And since he can only be convicted of one murder, he will be out of prison very soon (as he predicted).

I loved how in the first episode her reaction to the whole Islam thing was "I married a US marine. This can't happen. You have a wife …" And then she said some other things but the most important thing was "you have a wife". Her biggest fear is that he will ruin things for *her*. She probably wouldn't have freaked out

This is what I thought too. There are just too many coincidences here. The Hezbollah knowing about the SD card (why they searched Saul), Brody's handler telling him of all people to go get the tailor (with a more than threadbare explanation), the van pulling up in front of the shop the moment Brody arrives at the

Somehow I knew the Redford movie was gonna suck just from the trailer.
If they can't even put together a decent trailer . . . Then again the
trailer for Silver Lining Playbook doesn't look like it's a funny movie,
but the review makes it look interesting. Definitely gonna keep an eye
out for Eat Sleep Die though. And

I haven't been a big fan of the show so far, this was the first episode I liked unequivocally. It's just a joy to watch Jason Isaacs perform and although I knew from the moment the boys got in a fight that it had to have been the mother's racket, I didn't even mind the fact that neither Michael nor Tara were able to

Really love this. Thank you, AV Club! Walkthroughs are a great idea.

Oh yes, Ed. For me the dreamboat was Ed, not Chris. Chris was always talking so much, all this new-age shit. Ed never got enough screen time IMHO. I wonder what became of that actor, I don't think I ever saw him in anything else.

I knew the writers would start fucking up the show at some point. But I didn't think they'd turn it into a soap opera.

"And we start to see that Saul’s cautious nature eventually gets
results, that his respect for other human beings and basically humane
nature are the strongest force for good within the show. (It’s for this
reason that I’m most opposed to Saul being a bad guy; it would take the
show’s strongest thematic and political
