this is DS9's original sin—everything after this is a bit . . .compromised and problematic.

While I agree that Abrams Trek is thoroughly objectionable I don't think I would subject myself to Nemesis over it. Maybe if the sound was off, I remember the space battles to be kind of okay.
But that image specifically of a Miranda-class starship (…the Reliant, the ship Khan used in Wrath of Khan, okay?) being hit dead on and exploding as it arced to one side is one of the first that comes to mind when I think of Dominion War battles.
As I recall, they had to fight tooth and nail to get the 6 episodes of the occupation arc that they did get. The powers that be (Berman?) wanted the whole thing wrapped up in a 2 parter. So I get the impression they always knew it was not going to be a whole or even half season deal.
As some sort of pitiful, monstrous Cronenbergian amalgam? I'd pay to see that.
See, that would have actually been a good joke on the lateness of Australian broadcasting of international shows.
Because all vans are sketchy. Especially so at night. Vans are only meant for transporting half a dozen goons or kidnapping people.
Really? Because this seems to be on the level of tech folklore to me. And even if that Mororola guy did say that, that still doesn't imply that mobile phones wouldn't be around were it not for Star Trek.
And I guess we have Star Trek to thank for mobile telephones as a whole, right? Right??
Don't know why you're ducking. I think that's a completely apt comparison. Which probably gives you some clue to my opinion of Into the Fire.
Yes, also can't see or enact "likes" (phrasing?).
Yeah, that's the other thing that bugs me about it. Phasers are now powered by "fuel cells" (or whatever they called them) that essentially function as ammunition and so have to be replaced regularly? All prior indications were that phasers were powered by the ships main reactor. And it's not as if it's implausible…
First we see Sisko performing a ritual with the rest of his crew involving empty power cells and shouting—it’s very cool and fundamentally dorky at the same time, and seems perfectly in keeping with the naval atmosphere.
So, he gets seriously burned but survives, and somehow becomes the guy from V for Vendetta? Or perhaps Darkman? Yeah, that sounds pretty cool.

Unfortunately, I think fossilization only occurs under very specific circumstances which are unlikely to happen in the middle of the desert. Sorry.
@avclub-89085904f0bffdb18e6df50da71ac0f5:disqus I don't think Todd is the kind of person who's every held any particular philosophy, racist/Nazi or otherwise. He judges his actions on whether they further his material interests at the present moment, or indirectly further his interests by furthering the interests of…
I don't think it's a year, I think it's probably no more than 6 months, maybe even less than that.
