The "fulfill your destiny" character arc is one of my biggest pet peeves in movies these days. It's not all about you, asshole!

After seeing Starship Troopers, I'm totally on board with that interpretation.
What was the moment you realized you were watching a shitty movie? Mine was the "There's always a bigger fish" line.
I was eleven, so Generations didn't bother me. Except that Picard's fantasy wife is some random French chick when we all know it would be Dr. Crusher. And Kirk's happy place had no mention of his son being alive.
Watching Star Trek: Insurrection was like when I found out my favourite elementary school teacher was a racist.
Why be sad? That movie taught me that death isn't so terrible when there's metaphorical dinosaur Heaven.
I have to disagree with your interpretation, therationalist. I figure that the point of the story from Herodotus is that Almasy is a suspected Nazi collaborator and murderer of the Cliftons. The story of the king is foreshadowing and a fake-out; the audience is expected to ponder the idea that Almasy murdered Geoffrey…

Speaking as someone who loves The English Patient, if the first twenty minutes weren't for you, you probably won't like the rest of the movie. The pace doesn't get any faster. I have a high tolerance for slow movies, and I love anything with nice cinematography and a good musical score. Also, Ralph Fiennes. He's at…
Yep. Why must this show keep going for the stupid option when a sensible one is available?
My favourite moment was when they resolved to go look for Rick, Glenn and Herschel first thing the next morning… and then when we see them getting ready to go the sun has obviously been up for hours. I guess they all had to shower and do their hair first.
I think the point of Lori is to exacerbate tensions between the competing alpha males, Rick and Shane. This is the fundamental problem with so many female characters in comics: They don't exist as full characters, but only to provoke or motivate the male leads.
I'm pretty sure we all saw this coming, Wee Willie. But I disagree with you that The King's Speech said enough about the subject; I think there's a great movie to be made about the (arguably) fucked up relationship between Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.
Yay! Thanks for brightening up my shitty work day, Zack!
