It was the theme song and refrain of the entire series, along with plenty of authentic Civil War-era fiddling songs, banjo tunes, band music, etc. Fun stuff. Not only was there a PBS series, there were soundtrack albums.

Ashokan Farewell was contemporary traditional mountain music and perfectly fit the mood of the series. Can't imagine it any other way. And was great exposure for Ungar. As a side note, I had an annoying friend who was driven up the wall by the tune. Like nails on a chalkboard. Consequently, I watched The Civil War

The writing credit flashed by so fast, I thought I was going insane when I saw Wright's name. I wonder if he contributed any of from-the-trenches experience from the comedy-touring circuit?

No time for his recollections of working on My Name Is Earl?

Get away? Hell. It was every wounded character actor for himself. I hope Hank makes it. Anyway, intense episode. Cesar is one my favorites, and the fact that he's working for Eleanor now (under much wariness and duress) fills me with dread. They started a book club, but Eleanor is in charge and machetes are not

The way the Glades ended was perfect. I cheered. Man, that show was annoying. Plus, its end freed up Matt Passmore so he could do Satisfaction. USA ought to pick up Longmire.

Sounds like All Creatures Great and Small

I get the sense that Cesar has dealt with Eleanor Nacht before. He was on his toes and wary. Plus, he's driving an El Camino. No backseat, so Eleanor can't sit creepily behind him. They're book talk was sweet, and I think on the next episode they'll start a book club.

Come on Superstation. You know what we want: Empire, a gritty, behind-the-scenes drama at a regional carpet-store chain.

It's better than the Beatles. Definitely trippy.

As a lifelong viewer of TOS and the spinoff series, I didn't have a problem with Enterprise until the last episode when Braga and co took a big dump on the franchise, a trend that has continued with Abrams and his ilk, who don't seem to have one original idea.

It's cool. He's now free to join Fargo!

And, what the heck did I just a notification for?

We apologise for the temporary interruption due to an attack by our supporting feature, The Castle Black Permanent Assurance

With an Emmy nom, maybe Cartoon Network will take another look at Beware the Batman and treat it seriously?

Pretty sure Cherlene's bus references Willie Nelson's Honeysuckle Rose.

The entire football sequence from Robert Altman's MASH is pretty fun.

I want a spinoff for Shea Wigham's Elvis sideburns.

I want to see a series crossover, with the two Watsons, Lucy Liu and Martin Freeman running solving cases as Watson and Watson.
