Again, though, this has no basis in fact. First of all, Gore definitely doesn't invade Iraq, let's not pretend that's a probably, and even if that were the only difference, that's an enormous difference given the ripple effects on Middle East stability, combat deaths and injuries, defense spending in lieu of other

How are pollsters "playing into a media-created narrative", exactly? Many national polls include Johnson and/or Stein in their polls (the latter despite the fact that it's unclear if she'll even get on the ballot in all 50 states). Clinton still wins handily, and Trump gets by far the next-largest share of the votes.

This is not accurate, so I gather you didn't actually dig into the results. Respondents are separately asked for their views of each candidate, not their views of each candidate relative to the other. And in July polling Clinton's favorables among Democrats are actually up around 70%, while Trump's among Republicans

This is not true anymore, although I believe it was during the primary. Gallup right now is saying 62% of Democrats are favorable on Clinton and 61% of Republicans are favorable on Trump. Independents are at 54% unfavorable on both with a slight advantage for Trump but probably within the margin of error.

Yawn. This is the ol' George W. Bush and Al Gore are practically the same person argument. Remember how well that worked out?

My former band did a Warped Tour date a several years back when brokeNCYDE were one of the headliners, and I can tell you that unfortunately they are all too real. As are Millionaires, who were also on the bill that year.

…of course, Leslie Jones actually is college educated, so…

I wasn't allowed :(

Wow… I didn't realize there was so much hate out there for this show. It tends to be a little lightweight, sure, but it's perfectly listenable. I never turn it off when it comes on. Once in awhile there's something really good.

I was once at a Modest Mouse show where Camper Van Beethoven opened. There was this dude in front of us that was heckling them and bitching about them their whole set, and we were thinking, like, the fuck is this bro even here for? CVB were a huge influence on lots of indie bands and were probably picked by Modest

Unless they're MGMT in 2013, in which case they will never play "Kids" at all. For some reason.

I was at the final show of the Codeine reunion tour at LPR, and I didn't drink anything, alcohol or otherwise, for 2 hours before the start of the show or during the opener so that I could stand right under Stephen Immerwahr the whole set. Which sounds creepy I guess, but Codeine meant a lot to me and that was amazing.

Right. There are two issues I think. Some others have noted the issue where a shock isn't a shock after the first time. I'd also point to a second: there are some truly horrifying combinations, and it's sort of fun to see who is shameless enough to play them, but once you've been in games where people are playing

Julie Doiron's "Will You Still Love Me in December?", which I first heard via a David Bazan cover, is maybe the saddest song I've ever heard. It's amazing.

Somehow, I love the idea that Ian MacKaye was giving the same kinds of lectures about autographs in 1989 that he gave me about 21+ shows in 2008.

Again, I think there are multiple factors at play. I think I was fairly careful not to suggest that anti-Semitism is the only reason Israel is so often singled out for criticism. I don't think that is the case.

As regards the former, I think that's an interesting question. I suppose I will simply refer back to my analogy to bias against PoC and women. We (left-leaning people in America, in general) believe that some things shouldn't be said in debates over those issues, even if they are true, because they reinforce

It's almost like you didn't read what I said. Did you not catch the bit about any individual person's motivation not necessarily being anti-Semitism? Although the hostile reaction is interesting.

I believe that too, although I'll add that there is often a tinge of anti-Semitism to a lot of anti-Israel and anti-Zionist sentiment, not only by those on the far right, but also by many of those on the left.

And then you were like, only one of us gets stuffed in this relationship! Amirite bros? Hi five.
