The description reminds me a little of The Act of Killing, too.
Absolutely my favorite. The really, really well-executed dramatic stuff that sometimes makes me weepy, coupled with things like, "I'm only one skull short of a Mouseketeer reunion!" and "You're twice the the he ever was!"
The Act of Killing is seriously one of the most insane pieces of non-fiction I've ever seen.
Zelda II: Adventure of Link, although if I'm honest with myself I gave up a long time ago. But that's the only one that still sticks in my craw, even though it's been 2+ decades at this point.
There was also briefly a combination Arthur Treacher's franchise/Korean take-out in Bloomingdale DC. It didn't last very long. Unfortunately.
