Hahah. Gerry Ambleton is one of the artists who I know did extensive costume research though. He did a lot of stuff in the 70s

As D-Perks said, "they don’t have the Britons’ armor or weaponry (Rollo marvels at the superiority of the British steel". I'm not sure how historically accurate that is but the Osprey books I have read all show Vikings from around that age with helmets at least.

Neat idea! I mean, Moat Cailin is hundreds of miles from the Dreadfort but that works

I specifically meant the coif. The splintmail used on the show looks pretty cool and it gives the Anglo-Saxons warriors a distinct look, I like it.

They wouldn't be wearing the exact same scarves and headgear and colours and I've never seen them reuse costumes (and I pay attention to that shit).

Accidentally replied to the thread above, but here goes: The gold was supposed to make Ragnar, a major Viking leader, stop raiding the Northumbrian coast forever. Killing Ragnar and his crew would not stop future attacks from happening, which were notoriously difficult to defend against since Viking attacks were fast,

Sorry, I actually replied to the wrong comment. I'm sure the story will
require some battle-related complications at some point, though. There's
three more episodes and a new series in the works, presumably filled
with raids and skirmishes. Let's wait and see.

I like how the way Ramsay kills the head torturer mirrors how Theon
killed that wildling threatening Bran back in season 1. Same type of gloomy pine
forest, same killing method: arrow through the chest from behind.
Interestingly, Robb was ungrateful back then when he should have praised
him, while Theon thanks Ramsay

King Bob sired a bastard or two. Most notably Gendry.

They do seem to suffer from inbreeding; the dragons the first Targaryens brought with them reproduced but after a number of generations they got sickly and wouldn't breed anymore. Dragons are either hermaphrodites or can swap genders.

"The Walk of Punishment is a reminder, yes, but it’s also a tinderbox, something that could very easily start a rebellion that destroys a grand city if the right spark is lit." Confusing use of figures there, Todd.

Yeah, but who does Littlefinger serve?

We do hate Nazis. We're not that polite though, is that a new stereotype?

Great episode. The fake mail Athelwulf was wearing was my only problem with it. Seriously, if you can't afford mail made out of individual rings don't even bother, just give him a hood of some other material. In contrast, Leif's mail skirt actually looked real. It's not like I hope someone got fired for that blunder,

The gold was supposed to make Ragnar, a major Viking leader, stop raiding the Northumbrian coast forever. Killing Ragnar and his crew would not stop future attacks from happening, which were notoriously difficult to defend against since Viking attacks were fast, brutal and of the hit-and-run variety - as we've seen.

It has already come to pass, yet some choose to deny it

She'll get pregnant a bunch more times, don't worry

Go back to how I phrased that: this is the first Viking they've shown wearing a helmet, full stop. Warriors wore helmets in 793 yet we've only seen Anglo-Saxons wear them. And those were regular soldiers. Moreover, Ragnar was established as a rich farmer and neither he nor the Jarl wore a helmet with their duel getup.

Kind of an unfortunate choice since there is an actual house Locke in the North, but they live hundreds of miles away from the Boltons
