Quality wise, I think songs on a CD are 256 kb/s whereas iTunes audio files are probably 192 kb/s, maybe 256 kb/s. It's very possible that your stereo is just better than the computer speakers you use to play digital files, but if you play everything in your car or something, then I don't know.
