Gigantic sets???
It's been a while since I studied this film, but, if I recall correctly, nearly all of the sets, cityscapes, etc. were made in miniature.

No one is probably reading this anymore…
But I just finally got around to watching these last night, and, while I mostly enjoyed them, I'm puzzled by the collective-fellatio you're all giving James Franco. The plot-line was amusing (if a little too similar to Fish Called Selma), but Franco was mostly horrible. His

@ Unicorns — I'd actually consider paying the $12 if that was the actual cast.

I haven't ever found myself having to defend them; I just force whomever I'm speaking to to listen to Fuzzy Logic, and they've always accepted their greatness.

@ Blick — I really dig me some Ween, but their only album that does scream "OH MY GOD! You gotta hear these guys!" is The Mollusk. Choc&Cheese is a pretty solid album, but The Mollusk is their masterpiece.

Also: re: the pregnancy thing: you've got to assume that, as one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, lots of the women he was banging were probably young starlets — who would rush right out for an abortion if they got knocked up.

On the plus side…
I do know now that if Tasha R. gives something a good review, it's probably shit.

The "Special" Directors
I've always been a bit puzzled about the use of the "stunt" directors on this show — and this interview kind of puzzled me more.

Well, he is a humor writer/comedian.

Yeah, after I tried weed for the first time and realized it was actually milder than alcohol and that I wasn't going to start playing the piano at 48 fps before leaping out a window to my death, I started sampling all sorts of goodies that were actually bad for me due to a basic and inherent distrust of The Man.

I found that odd as well.

You are mistaken
Cobie Smulders' body is the best thing about HIMYM.

Start with Inherent Vice; it's far and away the most accessible — and it touches on all of TP's major focuses and obsessions.

@ Gringo —

Final Mantantasy???

I've always refused to listen to this guy primarily due to the name.

After reading the (fascinating) piece on Cameron in the New Yorker a month or two back, I suspect that some of these glowing reviews are due to the initial response to Titanic.

One of my uncles used to say that all the time when I was a kid. It's definitely been around for a while.

That scene is far and away my favorite in the film.
