The Third Man starts with a voiceover that's never used again, and it's fucking excellent, but this may be an exception to the rule.

Pearl Jam was my favorite band ever when Vs. came out and I was in middle school. My fandom had declined considerably by the time I graduated high school, but I've been to a few Pearl Jam shows and it's always just as great as the article describes. The highlight was probably watching the band and Sleater-Kinney

And now that I think about it, I believe there was an episode of Season One that ended with Amos' "Crucify."

That's the one. One of the many, many reasons I love HLOTS so much is the excellent music it had all through the series. The first few DVD sets even had listings of all the songs used in each season, but I think they stopped doing that around Season 4.

Paul Westerberg, even if he hasn't been terribly prolific of late. But if that new 'Mats record actually materializes, I'll be first in line at the record store.

This sucks. I haven't seen everything she was in, but Lone Star is one of my All-Time Top Ten Desert Island movies. She and Chris Cooper are incredible in that. She also did some great voiceover work besides The Incredibles; for example, she was one of the Thanagarians on Justice League.

He just wants his kids back.

One of the reviews I read when it came out said something to the effect of, "the two most important things you learn in this book are that everybody loved Gilda Radner and everybody hated Chevy Chase."

Red Faction 1 was the first PS2 game I bought when I got my console. So many, many enjoyable hours spent blowing shit up. Sniping enemies through walls with the rail gun was almost as fun.

The A.V. Club: Minimum thought and effort.

One of my abiding regrets in life is that I'm too young to have ever seen the 'Mats in their heyday (Hayday! It's my hayday…)

What's with all the coughing…oh my God! You've all got Ebola!

During my doctoral program, I often heard the saying, "it takes seven years to get a PhD and twice as long to get over it."

They didn't just make him dumber, they made him a lot meaner, too. I always thought Jared Padalecki must have pissed off the entire writers' room or something.

Stop trying to make the McAdasaince happen!

Well, Hounsou did get to voice the Panther in that motion-comic thing that BET did a few years ago.

Yeah, I really like The Witcher 2 as well. I've been meaning to try out Dark Souls but haven't taken the plunge yet. Thanks for the recommendations!

Oh yes, I like Dishonored quite a bit. I could spend hours just blinking behind unsuspecting guards and knocking them out.

I have played, and liked, DE:HR, although it's not quite the same as FO3 or NV. Those games really accommodate different styles of play, and while Human Revolution pays lip service to that idea, it's clear that the game really wants you to play as the stealthy, nonlethal operative (i.e., you get more experience points

Seriously. I've already played FO3 and NV about 50 times each; I need something new to get my action RPG fix!
