The first few Homicide DVD sets included an extra feature that was a list of all the songs used in that season, with the artists who performed them. It was a great way to track down some of the more obscure songs they used, but unfortunately they stopped doing around season 3 or 4.

I dunno, something like "The Book of Love" manages to be both arch and sincere at the same time, which is a pretty neat trick.

Seriously, I can't believe that wasn't mentioned in the review. Definitely the most memorable part of the episode.

Great writeup
Though I was disappointed it didn't include the best bit of dialogue from the CJ/Charlie prank war:

Great writeup of a great movie
Although I wish Scott would have said something about the movie's sense of humor. I've said before that this movie is a comedy, and while that's a bit of an overstatement, it's not a total reach. Think of the banter between Downey/Gyllenhaal and Ruffalo/Edwards; the punchline to the

ArugulaZ, you're thinking of "Task Force X" (because standards and practices wouldn't let them use "Suicide" in the name of an episode). And yes, it's one of JLU's best episodes.

I enjoyed it too, not so much for the religious content per se, but for how incredibly creepy it is. For at least 2/3 of the episode, it's some of the most unnerving stuff the show ever did, even if it all sort of falls apart at the end.

I dunno, I fall in love with Lili Taylor a little bit every time I see this episode. Maybe it's just the "I-don't-give-a-fuck" attitude of the character, but it's perversely attractive. To me, anyway.

I agree with Burl! Everyone should see this movie!

Such a disappointment
I was bummed by how lousy St. Anna was. There's a really good movie to be made about black soldiers in WWII, but this sure wasn't it.

Everclear's "Father of Mine"
Which I must admit I actually like.

Of course the real reason for the Doctor's exile to Earth
Was to cut down on the budget. Alien planets are expensive to create you know. This was offset a bit by switching to film, as others have noted, so even though there's less interesting stuff on screen, it all looks much better.

When Reynolds bothers to actually act, as in Adventureland, he's not that bad. But why do that when you can coast on good looks and a smarmy attitude?

How Cutter's Way
Didn't make John Heard into a star I'll never understand.

Hmmm…
"More and more, we realized comedy songs shouldn't be over two and a half or three minutes."

Almost Famous
Everybody remembers the "Tiny Dancer" scene in Almost Famous, but I actually prefer the scene with other Elton John song, "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters," where William is rushing through the streets of New York to get to Penny.

No, because it's Rosie's dad who goes over there and finds the woman in the bed, remember? I think he would have remembered his sister-in-law banging his daughter's boyfriend.

Ah, I hadn't picked up on that. Thanks.

Arya's Eavesdropping
HERE BE SPOILERS

My biggest problem with Cat in the books is that does EPICALLY STUPID THING and then yells at people who are angry at her for doing EPICALLY STUPID THING.
