But if Ru is such an ally, then trans people telling him that what he is doing is incredibly offensive and that they would prefer that he would stop shouldn't be a problem. Listening to the community you claim to support and attempting to help them based on what they tell you is a pretty big part of being an ally.

The way I look at it, it's not so much "attacking an ally for not being enough of an ally." Instead, it's more like this: RuPaul is someone who is very knowledgeable and has experience with the trans community, so if he considers himself an ally and trans people tell him that what he is doing is very offensive,

Yes?

That was a little vague. I should have written "achieve" or "accomplish" instead of "do". And by "we" I meant "queer people who advocating for our rights/representation."

I won't deny that anything that helps even a fraction of LGBTQ kids is a very beneficial thing. But like Mande says, I think we are far enough along in this movement that we don't have to accept something like this as anthem just because it helps some people who needed it.

If anyone wants a version of Same Love that is actually the moving, heartfelt anthem it should be, please go do yourself a favor and listen to Angel Haze's version of the song: https://soundcloud.com/ange…

I mostly agree about Hatesong, but I could listen to people bash Macklemore every day of the week. Especially when it's done as skillfully as this is.

There are songs throughout this album that are entirely clear about what they are discussing. Ghetto Woman? Dorothy Danridge Eyes? Sally Ride? I mean, it's subtext, but just barely.

A major theme in Monae's work is using androids and the fight for android rights as a stand-in for a discussion about LGBTQ rights and those of PoC. So when she's writing music celebrating androids, as she does all throughout her latest album, it's a celebration of those minorities. And that it is coming from a

I think in the clip where she says that she's wearing this red devil-ly looking get-up, so it can't be this episode. It looks like it's directed at Adore, but of course you never know.

I'm pretty sure Raja gave Stacy the necklace.

Aw, that's nice. It helps me remember her a little more fondly.

Wait, did Delta apologize in the Reunion? For some reason I remember her still being nasty to Stacy and holding onto the Heathers thing until the very end, but to be fair, I've blocked out much of Season 3 so I could totally be wrong.

I've heard from multiple people I know that Laganja is actually really nice and friendly in real life, but man, do I have a difficult time believing that after her time on the show.

Moment of the night for me: Michelle continuing to harp on that same tired bit about Adore's dresses being the wrong length and RuPaul just being so over it that she just talks over her and shuts her up. God, Michelle being shut up is so glorious.

I wasn't allowed to watch Pokemon because it "encouraged violence and animal abuse." Meanwhile my dad sat me down in sixth or seventh grade and made me watch Kill Bill.

I kinda got the idea that they filmed the talking heads every week, but made them wear the same clothes every time for consistency and easy editing. It sounds a little weird, I know, but I just can't picture all of the queens remembering exactly how they felt in the moment at every step of the competition.

Yeah, and if you're going to pull out a ballsy look like that, you better make sure that it is fucking polished. If you come out with a poorly concealed bald cap and mediocre makeup, it'll just look like you are doing it purely for the shock value without being willing to put in any of the real work to see it

Yeah, it reminds me of Milan, who was so protective of her "style," but had none to speak of. She was a hot mess and saying "this is just my style of performing" doesn't hide that.

Well, they did have Shangela in an episode back in season three, but not a full-fledged themed episode.
