If this is the guy who did the Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice, then that's a bad sign for me.  The characterisations in that pic seemed to be based more on previous film adaptations rather than the book, i.e. making Mr. Bennett into a nice guy and Darcy "shy", and the script went really off the rails into…

Given that many of the characters and much of the imagery in the film come from Baum's books, which are public domain, why can't they be used by others?  Just proving again that I don't understand copyright law, I know, but how can this be justified?  Baum's been dead for almost 100 years.
