Yes that was a good album.  Especially "Sleep"

James:  This Bed Is On Fire - one hit wonder from that time period.  I have no idea if they sucked as a band other than that, because I can't think of another song they did

I always thought the Oasis backlash (or is it just a lash?) was because Liam Gallagher was a prize asshole and Noel comes off as pretentious most of the time (but he earns major points for constantly trying to kick Liam's ass).  Now my eyes are open - thank you AV Club.

I agree with Waldo - the ending doesn't live up to the slow burn that preceeded it.  But "The Innkeepers" is much funnier and entertaining than HoTD, so I enjoyed it more as a whole because I didn't need the ending to live up to the "horror" aspect of the film.  The ghost story is the weakest point of the film really

I decided to stop being lazy and look:  apparently there is a 2011 UK Blu-Ray/DVD combo from amazon.co.uk that has an excellent picture and good special features, including an interview with Julian Glover.

Is there a DVD of that yet?  I have an old VHS, but the last time I looked "Quatermass and the Pit" wasn't available on DVD or Blu-Ray.

More love for Mysteries of Lisbon.  I wish we could get the original 6 hour miniseries cut on DVD in the US.

I still think that "Warrior" got slighted - at the very least it should have filled the usual Official Oscar Crowdpleaser slot…it would have been far superior to a lot of the usual nominees there.

Withhold final judgement until the sequel.

I love "Sunshine", despite the silly slasher turn in the third act and all…can't help it.  But I didn't know until recently that Pinbacker was Mark Strong (mostly because he's always shot out of focus).  So the Mark Strong Coolness Factor lifts the third act up a notch…only a notch.

I think it's Kind who says on the phone that he thinks he is seeing a Derby contender get trained.  Gedrick picks up on it too.  The veterans know that they are seeing Triple Crown talent there.

Yes, a Jurgen Prochnow sighting!  And Michael Gambon too.

Stevens has a nice scene with Nolte in episode 2.  He seems fine so far.

I started with Pertwee, but also regard Baker as the best.  Jelly Babies anyone?

Michael Fassbender was fantastic in every movie he was in this year, and Tom Hardy was great in those few films that Fassbender did not appear in…and neither of them got a single nomination?

Technical Question:  Does "Best Score" only include original pieces written for a film, or the entire musical score including existing work.  Because just the use of "La Mer" alone at the end of "Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy" was brilliant.

Didn't Von Sydow actually have to turn "Dragon Tattoo" down because he was already doing "that piece of crap Oscar Bait Film"?

Nolte was really good, but how did Tom Hardy get left out altogether for BOTH "Warrior" and "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy"?

Even if it wasn't already a great movie, "Jackie Brown" achieves complete awesomeness for Samuel L. Jackson blowing away Chris Tucker in the trunk of his car.  If only every Chris Tucker film had such a scene….

Yessss…the Director's Cut is great!  And the Blu Ray keeps going on sale for cheap too, making it even better.
