I seem to remember Kevin Smith talking about this on An Evening With Kevin Smith. Isn't this the script with the producer who was obsessed with having Superman fight a giant spider? (Who then went onto produce Wild Wild West). Really funny story.
I don't buy into the whole thing being a dream theory personally, but I do think there is some degree of merit to it. Specifically the chase scene where Cobb is running from random motorcycle men bad guys who come out of nowhere then are never heard from again through a maze-like part of the city (with overhead shots…
I don't think I've heard any of those crazy theories. I also thought it was 3 choices - awake, still dreaming, was dreaming the whole time.
Inception was definitely deliberately ambiguous.
I agree. As a fan of Oz I was stoked to see him on the show and was pretty much predisposed to like him (and AAA next season for that matter, although Eko was a much better character). Michael had his moments and Perrineau was good playing him, but the show just couldn't seem to get a good grip on him.
Alright, I'm going to be that guy right now. It wasn't a grilled cheese sandwich, it was a Hot Pocket. I don't know why, but that just makes it funnier. Probably because it left a stain on the wall.
I'll go ahead and agree with the reviewer that these past 3 episodes were a lull period and that the show's quality gets back up to par on this back stretch of episodes running through the season finale. In fact, some of the series's best episodes are coming up soon.
I remember that rumor floated around with Libby. No idea about how valid it is. I know that Cuse and Lindelof's explanation is that they didn't think that Ana Lucia's death would hold enough of an impact since the audience hated her anyway and they wanted to give the scene more shock value (it worked, but at what…
I think you're right about Eko. I also heard that they took plot threads that were supposed to go to Eko and used the with other characters. For example, I had heard that he was originally supposed to be part of the rescue-Jack crew in the middle of season 3. It's too bad, because Eko was one of my favorites.
That still doesn't account for why she cut Michael out of Walt's life entirely. Considering that Michael clearly wanted to play some sort of role, without more information it's hard to see the justification for that. Parents shouldn't be able to unilaterally cut the other parent out of a child's life for vague, hard…
I think what's wanted is an explanation of why she keeps Michael completely out of Walt's life. If her and Michael had some sort of falling out unrelated to her moving away with Walt that would be one thing. But the show doesn't even hint at that, on the contrary it appears that she has a mostly civil relationship…
I think a lot of it has to do with that shot of the plane wreckage over the credits of the finale. It was just meant to be a place-holder epilogue using some previously unused footage from the Pilot, but then people who were already predisposed to the purgatory theory responded with "SEE, I KNEW THEY WERE DEAD THE…
Fair point.
So they didn't have time to develop Ilana (in a non-flashback manner) more but did have time for a bullshit Sun forgets to speak english storyline that was clearly just a time waster as other parts of the story were moved into place? Come on.
I think AD was a lot more deliberate with foreshadowing though. There were WAY TOO MANY hand-associated things with Buster at the beginning of Season 2 for that not to have been set-up material for him losing his hand. Plus he plays a claw game and wins a seal during that same time.
I actually think Ben showing up at the Pallet drop wear-house is kind of nice. It's the type of thing that would have been really awkward to work into the show, but addresses a logistical point people might still wonder about. Although the lack of explanation of how it ended up in the jungle without anyone noticing it…
I'm not saying they needed to do an Ilana episode all on her own, but they could have developed her more within the show in the context of other characters. At least to the point where we have some vague idea of what her plan was besides herding everyone up before killing her. She's the only reason Sayid is even back…
That's true. And the mirroring theme is one of the better aspects about Season 6.
That it was. Also almost as epically sudden and random as Arntz. "Trust me, Jacob gave me very specific instructions and I know exactly what to do!"…blows up. I think by that point Cuse and Lindeloff were just fucking with us.
