For all the bullshit she had to overcome (polio, pregnancy/adoption, early marriage and divorce, all before her debut album!) and deal with throughout her career (slut-shamed in the press, wtf Rolling Stone?) can you blame her if she went bitter?

You ARE loved. Help IS available, all it takes is a modicum of effort on your part. The fact that you're already acknowledging you need it puts you ahead of the game. Never feel bad about needing help, taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do.

Her mid-line giggles (like during " that ssssson of a bitch" in "Raised On Robbery") utterly charm me.

I love the "BAWK BAWK Chicken squawkin" part and the part where she admonishes herself for ripping off Shakespeare.

For The Roses is weirdly overlooked in favor of the stuff that came right before and after it, but it's every bit as good as any other album in her classic 60s-70s run.

I was so happy to discover the all-around flawless music of this lady at age 23. It was during a period of dramatic upheaval in my life and it was EXACTLY what I needed. God bless her
