I read A Moveable Feast and all I got out of it was that F. Scott Fitzgerald was insecure about his dick size, in addition to being a hypochondriac and a fucking lightweight. Fuck Hemingway.

And of course, all of his brilliant plans go off without so much as a hitch, even when things go wrong in ways that he couldn't have planned for, it still works out because his circle of codependent sycophants are willing to cover for him. It's feelgood fantasy bullshit at its best.

The Wall is just a glorified Broadway musical, as is The Final Cut, but they are both just so goddamned amazing.

Raging Bull is unwatchable. Oh, I put on all this weight, oh I was snorting so much Coke, nobody cares, fuck off.

I fucking hate Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Somebody oughta smack the dick out of that entitled little prick.

Lifted Riffs

OK, I agree with everybody saying this is stupid, though I don't take it as far as the people using it as a jumping-off point to attack an entire line of reasoning. There is a middle ground.

Philip gives me hope that one day John Stockton shorts will come back in style. Stan, though…. nope

I absolutely love Made Out Of Babies/Battle Of Mice/Julie Christmas, especially The Ruiner and the Jesu split. I made Coward my profile pic because it's my all-time favorite album cover. Haven't heard Mariner yet but I'll definitely be checking it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Holy shit, I'd pay real money to see Woody get taken down by Elizabeth.

This show is far more nuanced than Breaking Bad, which too often stacked the deck in favor of our heroes (Nazis? Really?). The Americans doesn't let ANYONE off the hook. Can't wait to see how even Henry ends up morally compromised.

I never understood how people who hated Walter so much could stand continuing to watch the show, especially considering that the final season is basically a straightforward atonement/redemption arc.

My fantasy scenario (which won't happen) is Paige killing Beeman to prevent him from blowing their cover. He figures out the truth about P&E, but has NO idea about the 2nd-generation-illegals program and that ends up being what saves the Jennings family, while also completing the process of Paige's corruption.

It's held the crown of "Best show currently on TV" for basically its entire run.

The Soon-Yee operation has shades of Martha all over it, though without the further complication of a romantic element. What started as masterful manipulation by an absolute professional ended up crossing a line into real connection and fellowship. When Elizabeth said "I'm going to miss her," she was expressing

Holly Taylor has the most soulfully expressive set of big brown eyes I think I've ever seen on a television show. They absolutely teem with conflicting emotion every time she's onscreen. The show wouldn't be nearly as good without her.

When Making It Real Goes Too Far

It would be especially contrived for Philip to have knocked her up considering Clark had made it clear to her he doesn't want kids, to the point where they were looking into foster care.

Unprecedented REMORSE from Elizabeth? Next thing you know she'll be going full Mischa on us. Seven months of time off and suddenly she's gone all soft.

I wish I felt the same way about the album as you. I don't mean this in a patronizing way — that spiritual passion you're talking about, that is everything. That's all that I look for in music. Moments where the artist feels like a conduit for the voice of some higher form of consciousness. It's such a rare and
