I knew she was sick but this is just terrible news.  I just came back to these boards after a long absence, made a few stupid, off handed remarks about dumb stars and their ridiculous behavior.  Snarky things that fill the space like a lot of this crap.  A DP friend of mine shot a thing with her way back when I lived

Again, I don't usually get into this, my stories are pitifully few but with my friend you never knew what was gonna happen — ever.  We'd have to drag him out of places sometimes to prevent fights yet he really wasn't  that type or an asshole.  If he ever went after a guy it was always the guy everybody in the place

Nope.  The bozos came back, Bruce slapped some money on the bar and they left.

I'm not usually one for gossip (well…) but I was drinking in this bar with a friend and The Bruce and two sycophants were right by us at the bar.  Being annoying.  My friend, God love him, is very decent yet doesn't put up with shit from anybody.  So the two suck ups went off to do some blow in the bathroom or

A lot of Euro films tend to meander and seem pointless at times, but the generally speaking mature takes on the world and relationships tend to starkly point out how juvenile and puritanical most American films are.

I met Lennon a bunch of times when I was a kid in NYC.  He was always great to me and I've got nothing to sell here.  He had no attitude, no meanness or the like.  I feel my instincts were pretty good - as a kid's often are - and I felt like the press version of him, what he projected, was pretty much a well developed

Always astonished OMO seems to have fallen by the critical wayside of late.  Even as "furniture" Mason is just great.  The struggle of doing the right thing versus the PC way has never been better dramatized.  Sure it's dated in places but when it works it's very, very real, something quite rare in morality tales of

Haven't seen this so this might not be fair or even accurate, but the TC Boyle book Talk Talk covers a lot of the same territory but with grounded humor and gravitas.  You know, real characters, real situations, real pain, growth and realiztion through a struggle with identity theft.  It had, maybe I've forgotten the

Pass on the FF, but did someone say Tang?  My brother used to play hockey and one time the team was playing way up in Butt Fuck, Canada.  Later at the hotel they ran out of booze and, alas, the store (singular) was closed.  An attempt to vandalize the hotel bar failed.  What to do?  Someone found some Tang and a

It's just so pious it's stifling.  It would've been just so great to see Abe break into the funky chicken or break dance on his head here or there, lighten things up.

Goodness.  EL gets a pass no matter WTF he does now.  Even in his lesser books there are usually passages that absolutely smoke and make the whole thing worthwile.  Some books are better than others but so what?  Name an author that produces otherwise.  Plus, and this is purely admitted showboating, he's a good froend

Santana Ain't Santa
Somebody help me out here, but there was a Frank Zappa record years ago where The Frank mocked Sand-tana's mindless one note playing; just kept riffing on the same tired minor scales and arps that Carlito beats to death. Truly hilarious.
