Fixed. Man, I need to stop writing these comments right after I wake up in the morning.

I'm pretty sure that for each two-episode grouping, I'm going to be giving all of these at least a B+ until the Cycling Tour episode. And only A's until the third series.
EDIT: Wow, good not so at the grammar am I. Yeah, I mean I'd give everything in the first two series an A (there are some slightly lesser episodes,

I'm definitely grading these episodes on a generous curve, since the show was still finding its voice and establishing its universe, but I still feel very fanboyish for giving all the two-episode groupings so far an A.

Zack, this review was fantastic. Just thought I'd let you know. Also, unless there's an AV Club law against it or you simply couldn't handle the additional workload, this show absolutely merits a one-episode-per-week breakdown. Pretty please?

I am so excited about these reviews that I can't even fully articulate my ecstatic reaction yet.

Thank you, Steven. This series was an exceptionally well-written look at a truly great band. It honestly did make me reassess the way I saw R.E.M. and appreciate them a lot more. After this and the 90s rock retrospective, I can't wait for your next project.

Aren't Gateways To Geekery usually a little more thorough about an artist's oeuvre? Or is that Primers I'm thinking of? If so, as much as I agree with this ranking, Eno deserved a Primer.

I thought that this would be the episode to tackle the mythology behind Glob/Grod, since one of the crew members said that would happen this season. Although it didn't have that going for it, it was still fairly strong.

I'm convinced I have the weirdest ranking of Bowie albums ever.
1. Ziggy Stardust
2. Aladdin Sane [these two are very close]
3. Lodger
4. Low [these two are very close as well]
5. Hunky Dory
6. Station To Station
7. "Heroes"

One simple line: "OH, I'M SORRY, I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA!"

This one just didn't have that Liars magic, IMO. It's not that I'm bothered by the genre change; the songs were just really basic and draggy, especially toward the end. That worked in a perverse way on Drum's Not Dead, because they were dealing with ambient and really whacked-out sounds, but as people have noted, this
