Crixus was poisoned.

In BLOOD AND SAND, they rebelled because they were all going to die otherwise.

But there was a vulnerability before, a feeling that the slaves had in which what they were doing was the only way out, that's gone.

We see the pain sure, but everyone has that.

We do not see anymore the righteous hunger for justice, as we did before.

For a short while, the slaves actually do seem like the monstrous villains the Roman Republic makes them out to be.

This season, the writes accomplish a tricky feat.

So begins WAR OF THE DAMNED.

Spartacus's fate is sealed.

When Crixus and everyone else cheer, a bloodthirsty look on their eyes, we know.

The voice of reason.

For all the blood he spills, he's always been the most cold headed of the bunch.

It's telling that only Gannicus flashes a hint of worry.

"Now, we form an army."

Yet, after that's over, the man turns to his fellow men and says…

I shed many tears during that moment.

damned beautiful.

When Spartacus raises his sword to flashes of Sura…

And Glaber's end is near cathartic, as well.

Flawless, flawless.
