Not even Shakespeare could have done it better.

The conclusion to the Lucretia vs Ilythia drama is flawless.

Dare I say, it's much, much better and entertaining than even full film features.

Still, WRATH OF THE GODS is a spectacular hour of television.

It's a noble thought to think so, but the world has never functioned that way.

There's no way a ragtag group of former slaves can defeat one of the mightiest and most powerful empires in the history of mankind.

But you can sense that everyone is just postponing the inevitable.

The burning of the arena is glorious to behold.

As is the return of Gannicus.

The setbacks Glaber suffers are joyful to watch.

The rebellion does a fine job at standing up against the Republic, but it's of no use.

From then on, things only get worse.

Aurelia dying should have been a sign that things would not end well for the titular hero.

From the opening scene of VENGEANCE, one can sense doom.

But I digress.

It's a fantastic season in a near perfect series.

THE GREATER GOOD
LIBERTUS
WRATH OF THE GODS

That's not to say its bad by any means, because it features astounding episodes.

VENGEANCE is arguably the weakest of the 4 seasons.

So we get VENGEANCE.
