Yeah, it wasn't like it was dredging up some small misdemeanor when he was a teenager. Everyone knew about his past and publicly Allen did the wise thing of just owning it. That Simpsons joke was mild, I'm sure Allen, being a stand-up comic and all, heard a lot worse from his fellow comics.
I can see how you never pegged her for a cruise fan, but I don't see why that is totally out of character. As has been pointed out in the season premier, we don't really know a lot about her. That she escaped into a fantasy world as a child and is now tapping into that to escape from her current ordeals doesn't seem…
It's supposed to be cringe-worthy. And it is definitely leading to something.
Or Jimmy is hiding a pet. One of the themes clearly being explored this season is Gretchen's and Jimmy's respective childhoods. i.e Gretchen's childlike glee at getting the cartoon cruise mommy never let her have. And now it's Jimmy coping with what his father never gave him.
"…and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitush of the United States."
"Yeah I get it, get him to cry, boo hoo, 'there there,' we'll be done by Wheel."
That Lindsay bit at breakfast was so good.
"Jimmy, you do not need to steal blow jobs."
"Yeah. But you know how amazing free food tastes."
(Gretchen makes a "yeah, free food does taste amazing" face)
Gretchen is an asshole. Always has been. She has her good moments (as many people who are assholes do), she can be outwardly charming in a mischievous way, and she has actual feelings for Jimmy and is trying to deal with the relationship, but her core instincts haven't really changed. Her scenes with the therapist…
I agree, l liked the Gretchen and Jimmy scenes in this episode. Gretchen sort of doing the right thing for selfish reasons, and Jimmy playing along, but sort of having a breakthrough but not wanting to fully show it was grand. Aya and Chris have such snappy chemistry, that scene in the English bar with Gretchen doing…
Never watched it when it was first one, but started picking up on some episodes here and there on cable about a year ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. Not as bad as I, for some reason, thought it was. The acting is (with the exception of Kutcher) uniformly excellent.
It's far from astonishing that Kevin James retreated to television, this time playing an ex-cop (like James playing the President of the United States in Pixels I imagine the whole ex-cop thing will just be window dressing for his typical schlub persona) with a hot wife (Erinn Hayes, a waste of her talent but I don't…
Here's a list from a weed blog called (surprise) theweedblog.com. I tired out after reading a few dozen. There are freakin' hundreds and hundreds of them. ("Alice B Toklas" being slang for a pot brownie is my favorite.)
I know, Al Bundy was practically catatonic.
My LaSalle, however, is running like crap.
I've got it! "Aioli Week." I want 5000 words from each of you on aioli by 5pm today!
"I'll allow it (cue cheesy music) but you better be going somewhere with this counselor…"
"Just cause a busload of dead kids rolled up, doesn't make it's not Margarita Monday."
"We get it."
