I've been earnin' and burnin', snapping necks and cashing checks

We are so #blessed.

Look! A baby record!

"Think about it. We can do drugs and go to weird Puerto Rican dance halls and take so much New York dick that our pussies will start talking like, 'Oh! Another one! Fuggetaboutit!' But they won't forget about it, Gretch, because we're just that memorable."

I've been saying that as well. It's not exactly subverting the form, it's actually pretty straightforward. But the characters are well drawn, the show is well written, the look and direction of the show is first rate, and the cast is damn fine.

I hope he finally gets his house in Black Dwell. Or maybe even regular Dwell.

I didn't think much of the character at first, but I grew to love Sam (a wry take on Tyler, The Creator). His "delivering the pussy" bit in "What Normal People Do" became of my favorites while I was re-watching season 1 last week.

The article does make a generally reasonable point, but yes, it is a bit arch in its execution. But hey, if you have thesis, why not go all in with it?

I re-watched season 1 last week and I loved how early on Gretchen called him "Jimmy Three Names."

I mean, whatever

Do young people today really over think things this much?

"We might not be the best people-"
"But we're not the worst."
"Graduate students are the worst."

I love Stephen Colbert and the man has a world of talent, but no matter how much he can "reinvent the talk show" for the umpteenth time the fact of the matter is a network talk show such as his will always be in service to the celebrities promoting their latest projects. I'm sure Colbert will do fine with it, but I

But it does feel that it's becoming more and more of a bygone era.

That's all fair. I'm just tired of three-camera being dismissed out of hand. Also, I love the automatic assumption that every laugh is sweetened. I've talked to people who've gone to tapings and the audience actually is laughing at this stuff most of the time. Hard to imagine, huh?

Criticizing the material and execution is fine. Let it live and die on its own terms. But what I can't stand are things like this (from the article):

There is nothing specifically wrong with that. Not every piece of art has to redefine the genre. Sometimes a good pop song is just a good pop song.

I don't get this comedy snobbery around here. I laugh at lots of things, I love 30 Rock, You're the Worst and most of the other critical darlings, but I enjoy The Big Bang Theory as well. It's just a different style of comedy, and coming from a theatrical background, I really appreciate it when it's done well. And

Well stated. The editing on his records was always kind of annoying. Another thing hard to listen to is the Red Rocks side of A Wild and Crazy Guy. It must've been cool to be there, but the constant screaming is distracting and it's clear Martin is working at lot harder that he should have to to play to such a big

"Oh nooooooooooo. Is this- aaarrrrgggghh! Oh well, I'll just go in and- wha? You've been keeping records on me? I wasn't so bad. How many times did I take the Lord's name in vain? (pause) Uuuuuuuuuh! A million-six?? Jesus Chr-"
