As far as I know the only help Morrison gave him was the ending where it turned out Earth was Krypton way in the future and Kal-El was actually sent back in time not thru space. That was something Morrison came up with and let Millar use.

He had his powers back the next week and was switching Superman's mind with Bizarro's and making him think he'd murdered Lois. Same with the chick with the bugs. No one was permanently hurt by what Superman did.
