Because I'm a sucker for analogies: for all the repetition of "mitosis" in the finale, I think meiosis is more apt. A little bit of Harmon (Ganz) and a little bit of non-Harmon (Guarascio and Port), and we get a half-different Community at the end. Here's hoping that it will be a good diploid.

It's corny, but as a relatively isolated college kid (I have maybe 2 friends and I only see them once or twice a week) Community has helped me to be less worried about this. Not because it made me feel like I had more friends or anything, but because it suggested (nay, argued) that people who are lonely at one point

I haven't seen that emoticon in a while. I feel like that's a very earyl/mid-00s emoticon. It reminds me of Xanga.

Also like Jordan's Wizards season, in retrospectives everybody will talk about the glory days and intentionally forget the inglorious senescence.

Best music/albums for dealing with this news? My vote goes to Sea Change, Beck's sad and (for him) unusually lovely collection of songs that has been my favorite album since 7th grade.

I'm interested in the how the actors will handle this. I'm not exactly sure how close any of them were to Harmon. Joel McHale said something to the effect of "I'm praying he comes back" and that's about all I know.

Oof. Hurts to say this but I think I'm going to look at the AVClub reviews (and what you guys say) for the first few episodes of the next season and bail if they're not good. I really don't want to watch a neutered Community.

I am really trying to understand the dynamic between Harmon and Sony here. Is it because Harmon tried to get too much (too much what, exactly: money, control?) and Sony balked or because Sony tried to cut costs? I'd imagine it's more of a creative control thing because 1. I'm guessing Harmon doesn't exactly have a

What exactly does the consulting producer business mean, though? If Harmon was essentially the god of the old show I can't imagine him becoming just a random guy whose input is just considered. That seems like a very odd arrangement.
