I only read Emily in the past year, so I'll never know if child me would've identified with her more (although I somehow bet I'd still see myself more in Anne).

I did for many, many years until someone I absolutely loathed started doing it. One of these days I'll go back. I just wish it was more stable.

Well then one of these days I will have to make a trip. The Maritimes have always looked like the most naturally pretty part of Canada (sorry not a mountain person).

I saw the first 20-ish minutes before I had to go to work. I really like the main trio of Anne (her chatterbox ways coming super close to how I was as a child) and the Cuthberts. I'm not super sold on Rachel Lynde.

I agree with being put-off by her perspective in interviews, especially when she has to know that there are a lot of fans of the books, the minis; that there are whole generations of women whose first crush was Gilbert Blythe. Anne means a lot to a lot of people.

Were you enough of an Anne that you dyed your hair red (if you weren't a natural redhead)? Nothing made me happier than to discover that Christina Hendricks had taken to dyeing her hair red because of Anne.

Is PEI as pretty as Montgomery makes it sound in the books? I've wanted to go ever since I read the series.

From the little that I've seen of her, I actually really liked that element. She looked by turns pretty and at times homely, which seems to perfectly fit the character. Whereas Follows, for all of her talents, is just always pretty.

I am hesitant about this adaptation because like many in their 30s and early 40s, I have watched the Megan Follows minis about a bajillion times to the point where it's hard to imagine anyone else in those roles. Add in the fact that the actor who played Gilbert Blythe passed away a couple of years ago and it's even

And Speechless, two of my absolute favorite shows. I'd be unhappy if neither of them made it.

Sad upvote, I've been enjoying him so much this season.

C'mon ABC, just let us know about Speechless.

But seriously, what about Speechless?

I'm surprised to hear that, but happy. Here's hoping that they re-tool it some (toning down the mom for instance).

I am still surprised at how deep (character-wise) the show became.

And it's her birthday too!

At least you're watching one of the best.

I would watch ANY New Girl spin-off that starred Winston. He's my fave.

I was surprised by her comedy chops.

Me too. It had some very funny bits and Leighton Meester was a stitch as Deborah.
