Three bucks a la carte seems a little steep considering that a Netflix unlimited streaming plan is less than $10 a month.

More on Castle — it fails worst when it tries to be serious. It's always so obvious, with heavy-handed music cues; it feels unearned and amateurish. I think it's a series in need of a conceptual reboot, though I don't know how you get there from here.
As my wife likes to say about Castle: it's a show about a writer with bad writing. It's worse than that — he writes crime thrillers, but the show is wall-to-wall crime procedural/drama cliches. I genuinely like the cast, and think they do a great job with what they have, but charisma can only carry you so far when…
It sounds like a Nigel Tufnel quote.
Eek
Is that a real picture? No Photoshop?
Would you say that he was…
Regarding Ron's Julia Roberts line — I think this is the second time he's made a comment like that about a movie from before someone was famous. I get the impression that he hasn't seen any movies since about 1990.
Sean Bean is excellent, though I think the hair is a bit light since Ned is always described as dark in the book. I was impressed by the casting for the Stark children and Jon Snow — Jon is supposed to be the only one with Ned's coloring, while all the others have the auburn hair & blue eyes of Catelyn. I'd always…
The thought of Dany, Tyrion, and Jon Snow commanding dragons and a unified Westeros army against the Others is ridiculously awesome. I don't see it happening, but that put a smile on my face this morning.
If I'm going to try to stay dry, I don't screw around. I carry a 3+ foot golf umbrella that easily covers 2, and is tall enough to go right over other umbrellas I pass on the street.
That's actually Hugh Laurie in drag.
My prediction: Denna's patron is Haliax. The phases of the moon near his picture on the urn suggested to me that he is not always seen in shadow, that it is a periodic thing.
Off the top of my head, I honestly can't remember one personal detail about the human characters from the story. The environment, and the creatures, are so much more key, and are what Del Toro really brings to this project — the antarctic team could be played by basically anyone. Picking big names to fill seats…
I don't get the knee-jerk Cruise hate, at least with respect to him doing his job. If Del Toro can see him as a fit for the role, that's fine by me. And it does seem that he's into the project, and willing to use his influence to help make it happen.
I was waiting for one of these guys to get pissed that every question involved either their old band or Noel Gallagher. I probably would have felt that way.
How about literal?
Megadeth - High Speed Dirt comes to mind.
The Hunter wins for topicality.
So I read the link…
The story about what the mansion is like from a bunny's perspective is revolting and sad. The public is supposed to assume that it's Hef's classy "party house" or whatever, but in reality he's just hired a collection of prostitutes on permanent retainer. Which is fine I guess, consenting adults…
That scene feels completely unnecessary to me. I hate that part of the story, because I don't remember anything prior to that point in the story to explain why Bev would suggest that, or the others would all go along with it. Maybe he had a thematic reason (loss of innocence or some such), but it felt forced and not…
I vaguely remember the second Limp Bizkit album having some decent musicianship — more samples & tracks, in at least an attempt to sound more interesting than the dull-as-dirt first album. It's been years, though, so I don't know how it would hold up.
