I feel this comes from the place of both characters being "ethnic", as an ethnic myself (lol what a word but the show uses it so whatever) I understand this mindset and where it comes from because I grew up in it, so what they're showing is a very real way some families and people behave

Hannah was insufferable this episode, this is one of the first times I've really felt that way. The only guy I could relate to was Ray yelling at people because I'm the same way, but we'd both be intolerable to live with.
