Ladies and gentleman, this thread is for the birds!
In Angela's Ashes, Frank McCourt described his infected eyes as being like "two piss holes in the snow". Now I know what he meant.
Agreed. http://www.youtube.com/watc…
Huntsville did have the cultural cache of being the only place in the country to see Van Halen in an auditorium named after an unreconstructed Nazi. For the very definition of irony check out the Tue Apr 19 2011 booking: http://www.vonbrauncenter.c…
The most expensive TV in America….and worth it.
@crick- Agreed, I graduated from high school in Pulaski fucking Tennessee, birth place of the KKK and on the far tip of the ass end of nowhere. Huntsville, AL 40 miles to the south was the big city. Yet I could still rent Woody Allen movies at the combination video store/ Curtis Mathis TV showroom north of downtown.
Count me among the haters. Norm MacDonald was the greatest WU anchor ever and his replacement by that mush-mouthed gaffe machine was a crime against humanity a thousand times worse than the Holocaust.
I just saw a commercial for the family friendly PG13 re-release of The King's Speech…..and we come full circle.
All of the dwarfs will be played by Jennifer Garner.
TVMA
What the hell does that rating even mean. The American impulse for prudery seem to know no bounds. Cable programs with this ratings seem to be censored within an inch of their lives. I've noticed that even with the MA rating BBC America routinely edits profanity and brief nudity that Brits wouldn't blink an…
pate de foie gross
I was pulling for Richard but I was sure he had blown it with his last minute switch from Captain Crunch to liver ice cream.
I've really appreciated being able to livestream Al Jazeera for on the ground coverage of the Mideast uprisings. However, I am a little curious to see if the tone changes now that the revolution is at Qatar's doorstep. Honestly, I don't know much about the country but isn't it also an anti democratic emirate with a…
I sit in your cave.
There seems to be some sort of Stockholm Syndrome that takes place in the people who develop these characters. In interviews you can tell that Bill Paxton thinks Bill Hendrickson is the greatest guy ever. It reminds me of Brian Cranston's Emmy acceptance speech when he says Walter White is good man who makes bad…
Secret Millionaire
I would give anything if at the end of these episodes these grandstanding schmucks weren't allowed back in mansions and instead were forced to spend the rest of their days living in squalor with the unfortunates they care so much about.
It's just nice to know that there is a regular commenter here that's (barely) older than me. To all of you twenty-somethings who think they are going to grow out of their pop culture phase this is as good a time as any to move on to more mature endeavors. Beautiful score too.

@saccastro, reread my first post, I said 'already' not 'recently'
